Charcoal Isn't Just for the BBQ! © Karen DeNoble 2008

This week's blog was submitted by one of our alumni. Thanks Karen!

I woke up Ash Wednesday; the day after ‘Fat Tuesday’ with the worst stomach ache I’ve had since 1976 and the Halloween I bet my younger sister I could eat 26 wine gums in one chew. My stomach twisted and turned in a savage orgy of fruit twists, candy, cookies, and something that was hard and crunchy with a semi metallic taste that I’m still not sure could even be considered food; but I ate it anyway. ( I think it might have been a wrapper. )

HOMEOPATHIC STORIES – OUR HISTORY

I have come across many precious stories from our homeopathic history which will be including them in this blog from time to time. There are many great masters of this art and science who have had the courage and tenacity of their beliefs to carry the torch for this powerful system of medicine down through the centuries.

3rd Bi-Annual Professional Networking Event

Last week the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine hosted its 3rd bi-annual Professional Networking Evening bringing professional Homeopaths together once again. CCHM began hosting this event in 2010 with the intent of providing a venue for homeopaths to meet and network with their peers. Such an opportunity can provide the foundation for new friendships, ideas and support.

Welcome Back Students!

It’s official summer is over.  How do I know this? Another year of students recently began another year at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine.  Last week we also had our first Teaching Clinic of the year.  This is usually viewed as the most exciting part of a student’s training.  It is the time when students get to apply all of the Homeopathic philosophy and materia medica they learn through real, live patients.

Getting Ready for Another Exciting Year at CCHM!

Can you believe it is almost August?  This is the time of year when we have our feet in two worlds. On one hand, we are basking in the hazy days of summer.  We might be travelling, spending time outdoors and of course, doing a lot of swimming.   On the other hand, we are slowly inching closer to Autumn.

Graduation Day: Sending Out Another Crop of Homeopaths Into the World!

When I woke up on Saturday June 25thand saw the dark, cloudy skies and felt the cooler temperatures I was hoping that it wouldn’t rain during our graduation ceremony or the pictures.  Graduation is not only an important day for staff and faculty at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine (CCHM), it is an equally significant day for our graduates.

Preparing for our CCHM Graduation Ceremony!

Loyal blog reader, I know you are used to reading our weekly updates.  But, this teaser will have to suffice for the time being.  Why you ask?

Well...tomorrow is a big day at the Canadian College of Homeopathic Medicine.  It is graduation day for our year 3 students.  There will be pictures, a graduation ceremony and a graduation dinner.  It is all very exciting and the college is a buzz with preparations!

What's New at CCHM? RADAR Software Training!

You might be thinking what the hell is RADAR and what does it have to with Homeopathy?

Imagine you were a Homeopath practicing in Hahnemann’s time.  Can you imagine recording every remedy listed in each of the rubrics you chose?  Well that is exactly what all of the old master Homeopaths had to do.  It was obviously a painstaking process that took several hours.
