Joan Weir

BSc, N.D. FCAH

Joan's classes at TSHM teach students self awareness skills that show how their own energy states affect their perceptions of others. This is crucial when trying to discern information with the least amount of prejudice. Learning to be aware of oneself in the office is dependent on how self-aware you are in everyday life. Effective interviews are determined by accuracy of perception, and developing this skill is the focus of these classes.

Joan Weir graduated from McMaster University with a BSc in Biology in 1967. She went on to study at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine from which she graduated in 1988. After graduation, she focused on Homeopathic Medicine and completed the three year program with the Canadian Academy of Homeopathy. Joan continued to study with many of the world's most respected and renowned homeopaths. She has had a practice in Toronto since 1988. She has been a lecturer with TSHM since its beginning.

Joan has also been a student of Nature-Based traditions for many years with the privilege of studying with wonderful teachers from many cultures who lead her towards her own growth and healing. She is currently studying Shamanic Energy healing practices in indigenous cultures and incorporates all her experiences into her practice and teaching. Her current teaching at TSHM focuses on creating experiences for students in energetic dimensions of homeopathy.

Joan also enjoys being a Wedding Officiant, especially working with couples to design their own ceremonies, both traditional and non-traditional.
